The Beatles Are Better Than You

by Sinbad 2

"...the Beatles pervert with naturalness, they usually build solid structures. Whereas their rivals pervert with affectation - aping the gargoyles, but not the cathedral." - Ned Rorem

People have recorded their own versions of songs by the Beatles. For the most part, they have failed miserably in their attempts at making something that is worth hearing. Why try to redo something that is pretty damn good?

I don't know.

So for the true Beatles fan, I am offering up these reviews of Beatle song remakes. Some are o.k.. I am pretty happy about Souxie and The Banshies Dear Prudence. But that's about it.

If you have some insight into this phenomenon, please write to me. I might send you a copy of some really bad music.

And while I am sitting here at this old Underwood, listening to A Hard Day's Night, I am thinking about how I am going to do a cover version of every Beatles song. More to spite those jerk-offs who think they can throw a sitar in a chorus somewhere, and all of a sudden, they are brilliant.

So here we go on a tour of what I like to call, "crap".
